A 20-minute sail from the port of Ashdod seems like entering a different reality. There, IDF Navy combat soldiers engage in daily battles against terror activists trying to smuggle ammunition and other goods into the Gaza Strip.

With its tunnel system gradually being destroyed, Hamas has been strengthening its naval commando unit. "They try to smuggle everything through the sea," explains Lt. Col. Boris. "Weapons, drugs, nicotine, anything that can be traded in Gaza."

On one ship, for example, the soldiers found a large amount of material that can be used to improve the performance of Qassam missiles.
