IDF soldier moderately injured from car-ramming attack in Gush Etzion

A terrorist driving a vehicle violently crashed into an IDF guard post at the T Junction within Gush Etzion injuring a soldier when an light pole fell on him. The knife-wielding terrorist stepped out of the vehicle and attempted stabbing civilians prior to being shot and eliminated by security forces.

A terrorist driving a vehicle today (Monday) near the Ma’ale Amos settlement crashed into an IDF guard post injuring a 20-year-old soldier at the scene. Security forces at the scene shot and eliminated the terrorist. The IDF soldier was moderately injured and was evacuated to Jerusalem’s Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital.

At about 12:30 PM, the terrorist arrived at the T Junction in Gush Etzion ramming his vehicle into the IDF guard post. As a result of the violent crash, a light pole fell leading to the soldier’s injury. Afterwards, the knife-wielding terrorist stepped out of his vehicle and attempted stabbing civilians at the scene, at which point security forces present responded with gunfire and eliminated the terrorist.

The soldier was treated in the field by IDF medics and was evacuated later by Magen David Adam (MDA) to the hospital with injuries to his limbs. “When we arrived at the scene, we saw a fully conscious 20-year-old young man,” stated MDA paramedic Zahi Yahav. “He suffered trauma to his upper and lower extremities. With the assistance of IDF medical forces at the scene, we provided him with medical treatment, put him into the mobile intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital while treating him as he was moderately injured, but stable.”
