Ahead of Yom Hazikaron, the national memorial day of Israel's fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism, the Defense Ministry said 60 IDF soldiers were added in the past year to the long list of casualties.

On Monday, Israel will take a moment of silence to remember its 23,544 fallen soldiers since 1860. There are 9,157 bereaved parents currently living in Israel, and 4,881 widows of IDF soldiers.

More than 1.5 million Israelis are expected to visit military cemeteries across the country on Memorial Day.
