Terror tunnel believed to have been target of latest IDF attack in Gaza

It is believed that the IDF targeted a terror tunnel in Gaza in response to the three mortar shells that were fired yesterday. The carefully-worded statement released by the IDF spokesperson about Israeli fighter jets attacking a “significant terror infrastructure” is what led to the assessment.

The IDF spokesperson's carefully-worded statement after Israeli Air Force fighter jets attacked a target in Gaza in response to mortar fire has led to the assessment that the “significant terror infrastructure” was a terror tunnel. The wording of the statement is considered unusual because the IDF did not mention the target’s location.

The IDF spokesperson wrote on Twitter early Thursday morning: “In response to the 3 rockets fired at southern Israeli communities throughout yesterday from Gaza, IAF fighter jets targeted a significant terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.”

“The IDF will not allow any breach of Israeli sovereignty or any hostile attempts by terror organizations such as Hamas and remains prepared for a wide variety of scenarios,” the IDF spokesperson added.
