A missile alert siren was sounded this morning (Monday) in several towns within the Golan Regional Council in Northern Israel. Shortly afterwards, it was discovered that this was a false alarm and the Israeli security establishment is currently evaluating the circumstances that caused the alert system’s malfunctioning.

When residents of the Southern Golan Heights heard the sirens this morning, they were forced to quickly take the necessary precautions upon a missile alert system’s activation. The false alarm occurred a month and a half after the IDF launched a Patriot missile towards aircraft that came too close to Israeli territory in the Golan Heights. The IDF’s anti-aircraft system identified the aircraft, most likely a UAV, infiltrating Israeli territory and intercepted it.
