IAF bombs Hamas infrastructure in northern and southern Gaza Strip

The Israeli Air Force bombed Hamas infrastructure within the Gaza Strip in response to the rocket fired yesterday that exploded in an open field in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council. “Hamas bears responsibility for any attempt to harm to the State of Israel,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit has confirmed Palestinian reports that the Israeli Air Force bombed two Hamas terrorist outposts early this morning (Tuesday) in the northern and southern Gaza Strip.

The IAF’s retaliation occurred in response to the rocket fired yesterday from Gaza towards the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council. “By virtue of Hamas being the ruling terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, it bears responsibility for any attempt to harm the State of Israel,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit wrote in an official statement. “However, responsibility for the rocket fire was claimed by a Salafi terrorist organization called ‘Aknaf Bait al-Maqdis.’”

As reported yesterday by JOL, residents in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council reported that they heard loud explosions near their homes at around 10:30 PM. Rocket sirens were not sounded because it was determined that the rocket was not headed toward a populated area.
