IDF Artillery Corps enjoys surplus of recruits for the first time in historyAfter constantly suffering from a shortage of recruits, the IDF Artillery Corps has received more soldiers than it needs for the first time in its history. Some of the soldiers will be sent to other units.
For the first time since its establishment, the IDF Artillery Corps is enjoying a surplus of recruits. Approximately 80 soldiers that enlisted into the corps will be transferred to the Armored Corps or the Combat Engineering Corps, both of which suffered from a shortage of recruits.
The Artillery Corps attributed the success to the preparatory activities carried out before the actual recruitment. Some of the measures taken to promote the corps included publishing explanations on social networks and sending combat soldiers to schools to meet with students.
Another factor that most likely had an influence on the enlistee’s motivation is the significant change in the unit’s weapons. During the past several years, the Artillery Corps has adopted drone operators that have precision-guided munitions.
