The IDF attacked tonight Syrian military targets following a mortar explosion earlier today in the Golan Heights. The IDF stated that the attack targeted the regime’s artillery launchers.

Security sources stated today that the explosion that occurred earlier today occurred as a result of the spillover from the Syrian Civil War. The mortar shell landed in Israeli territory. There was no damage or injuries. However, the firing reached a greater distance into Israel than in the past and it led to a road getting blocked off where the shell fell.

“We see the Syrian regime as responsible for what happens in its territory,” the IDF Spokespersons Unit stated. “We won’t tolerate attempts to harm our sovereignty and the security of Israeli citizens.”
