IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot will present soldiers and reservists with a special medal in recognition of their outstanding service on Monday. Among the 150 outstanding soldiers and reservists is Major (res.) Karin Afriat, who reports for over 40 army days in a year even though she is a full-time university student.
28-year-old Afriat, who is studying mechanical engineering, manages to meet the demanding requirements of her studies and serve as a company commander in the Alexandroni Brigade. In 2014, she reported for over 60 army days. Most of these days were during Operation Protective Edge.
