Today (Sunday), an IDF armored force fired a warning shot at a Syrian military outpost in the northern Golan Heights. The incident began after the Syrian military established an outpost in the demilitarized zone. The extent of the damage is still unclear.

“During the past several hours, the Syrian military carried out fortification work on a military outpost in the demilitarized zone [and] this is despite the disengagement agreement,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated. “In response, an IDF tank fired a warning shot at the area.”

Yesterday, a similar incident took place in the same area. No injuries were reported.

As reported earlier by JOL, the IDF launched a drill in the Golan Heights despite the tensions between the countries. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit clarified that the drill was planned in advance. Another military exercise also began in the Jordan Valley.
