IDF to indict soldier who accidentally shot friend
IDF inquiry into Jerusalem terror attack reveals list of failuresAn inquiry into last month's deadly terror attack near Damascus Gate reveals that the troops who guarded the area were ill-equipped and did not follow some of the regulations.
Three weeks after Sgt. Maj. Hadas Malka was killed in a terror attack near Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, details from the military inquiry reveal several errors which caused the tragic outcome.
According to the inquiry, the IDF Border Police troops who guarded the gate were not arranged in a circular pattern, as required, which provides a 360° view. That allowed the terrorist to encircle the force and stab Malka in her neck from the back.
In addition, Malka was not equipped with a neck protector, which may have saved her life.
