Azaria’s lawyer claims IDF Military Advocate General is thirsty for his client’s bloodAccording to Elor Azaria’s lawyer, the IDF Military Advocate General filed the appeal out of revenge. The lawyer added that the IDF Military Advocate General is “thirsty for Elor Azaria’s blood.”
Elor Azaria’s lawyer Yoram Sheftal responded to the IDF Military Advocate General’s decision to appeal the sentence that his client received for fatally shooting a neutralized terrorist in Hebron. “This is vindictive, despicable and repulsive revenge that comes as a response to Elor’s own appeal,” Sheftal told Channel 2 News Online. “If Elor’s appeal hadn’t been filed, this one would have never been submitted.”
“This is an outrageous and false appeal,” Sheftal continued. Sheftal also claimed that the IDF Military Advocate General is “thirsty for Elor Azaria’s blood.”
“The maximum punishment that they are demanding is five years and the court imposed less than a third of that,” he added. “There’s no better proof of the IDF Military Advocate General’s desire to see Elor’s blood spilled.”
As reported by JOL earlier today, the IDF Military Advocate General decided to file an appeal regarding the sentence handed down to Azaria, claiming that the 18-month sentence is "excessively lenient."
