Just over the fence: IDF covert mission in Syria
Residents report: IDF notified them about suspected terror tunnel leading into kibbutzAccording to the recently released Protective Edge report, Hamas terror tunnels still remain in Israel. Residents of a kibbutz along Israel’s border with Gaza say that the IDF has been digging over the past few months in search of these terror tunnels within the kibbutz.
As reported earlier today (Tuesday) by JOL, the Israeli State Comptroller’s report that was released today regarding Operation Protective Edge revealed that despite Israeli security establishment claims following the operation, the terror tunnel threat is still not over. Current reports from Gaza envelope residents support the report’s findings. Merely three months ago, Israeli security officials notified them about suspicions of a terror tunnel leading into their kibbutz.
According to reports, the security officials secretly contacted specific kibbutz residents who live closest to the border and notified them that they would soon see a large number of engineering tools that will be digging near their homes. The officials explained that the digging will be conducted as certain indications led them to believe that a terror tunnel is located inside the kibbutz. The residents stated that after a short period of time, they were told that the threat had been neutralized.
