Egoz Unit soldier collapses during long-distance hike

An IDF soldier was seriously injured during a long-distance hike today. His condition is currently described as moderate.

An IDF soldier in the elite Egoz Unit collapsed on Thursday during a military hike. It is suspected that the soldier suffered a heat stroke after walking six kilometers.

IDF paramedics arrived at the scene and treated the critically injured soldier before transporting him to Safed’s Ziv Hospital. The soldier’s condition has improved and is now considered moderate.

The IDF has begun to investigate the incident. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit has yet to issue an official statement.
