Last night (Friday), a 28-year-old terrorist from Kafr ‘Aqab near Kalandia ran towards a vehicle checkpoint with a knife in his hand and stabbed an IDF soldier. He was eliminated by a combatant, a soldier and a security guard of the Checkpoint Authority who were at the scene. The soldier was evacuated to Hadassah Medical Center for treatment. Following the terrorist attack, Palestinian riots broke out in the area and were dispersed using stun and gas grenades.

At 10:12 PM, Magen David Adom (MDA) was informed of a stabbing attack near the Kalandia Checkpoint in Northern Jerusalem. MDA medics and paramedics treated the soldier who suffered stab wounds in his upper torso. The soldier is currently in Hadassah’s Trauma Unit, where he is fully conscious and in moderate-critical condition.

The stabbing attack near Kalandia came after another terror attempt in the Hebron region. As reported yesterday by JOL, a terrorist approached an IDF force in the Western Hebron hills on Friday and attempted to stab IDF Hebron Brigade Commander Colonel Itzik Cohen. The soldiers managed to gain control of the suspect and arrested him.

When one of the soldiers noticed that the suspect was approaching the senior level IDF officer's vehicle, he stopped him for questioning and noticed he was hiding a knife behind his back.
