The IDF said it attacked Hamas terror targets in Gaza on Monday evening in response to the flying of incendiary balloons into Israel's territory.

The Israeli airstrike came just hours after Sabri Ahmad Abu Khader, 24, was shot dead by Israeli forces after he and other terrorists attempted to vandalize security infrastructure on the Israel-Gaza border.

Overnight, the Israeli Air Force carried out attacks on nine Hamas targets, including two military facilities and a weapons manufacturing facility, in response to several arson attacks.

"The IDF has the intelligence and the military capabilities needed to deepen these attacks if necessary," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated.
