IDF officer to be expelled over infiltration of Lebanese citizen into Israel

The IDF's Spokesperson's Unit has published the army's inquiry into the incident and its decision to expel an officer and reprimand another.

An IDF officer will be expelled and another reprimanded following last week's incident in which a citizen of Lebanon was found in the northern-Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona after crossing the border.

"The lessons from this incident will be brought to the attention of the forces on the field," said a statement from the IDF's Spokesperson's Unit after it published the results of the army's inquiry into the incident.

"There will also be additional inquiries in order to prevent the reccurence of such incidents in the future," the statement said.
