Today (Tuesday), shortly after the Jewish holiday of Shavuot began, Israel Border Police officers arrested a 17-year-old Palestinian girl and found a huge kitchen knife in her bag. The Israel Police stated that the initial investigation uncovered that the teenager allegedly planned to attack security forces or visitors at the Cave of the Patriarchs.

The terrorist was arrested by policemen who were stationed at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. The terrorist arrived at one of the checkpoints and raised the policemen’s suspicions. “During the search conducted by the policemen, a large kitchen knife was found in the suspect’s bag, which she apparently carried in order to harm security forces or visitors to the area,” the Israel Police stated.

The Israel Border Police also announced that the suspect resisted arrest, did not listen to the policemen’s orders and was therefore arrested and brought in for questioning. Based on the suspect’s actions, her resisting arrest and the knife hidden within her bag, the Israel Border Police believes that it thwarted an attempted terror attack.
