Israeli forces eliminate wanted Palestinian terrorist in Ramallah

Israeli forces arrived at the home of a wanted terrorist who was planning attacks against Israelis in order to arrest him and he responded by opening fire. The soldiers responded to the fire by eliminating the terrorist. No Israeli was injured in the incident.

This morning, there was an exchange of fire between Israeli forces and a wanted terrorist in the Ramallah area until the terrorist was eliminated. Two other Palestinians were shot and injured after throwing stones at Israeli forces. The wounded Palestinians were evacuated by the Red Crescent. No Israeli was injured in the incident.

The IDF stressed that terrorist Basel Al Arej, a 31-year-old Bethlehem native, was the head of a terror cell planning attacks against Israelis. The Israeli forces encircled his home and planned to arrest him: “With the entry of the forces to the area of the arrest, the terrorist opened fire on the soldiers and an exchange of fire occurred in the area.” After Al Arej was eliminated, M-16 rifles and a carlo gun were found in his possession.

During the night, IDF forces, the Shin Bet and Israel Border Police arrested 12 wanted Palestinians in various raids across the West Bank. During the raids, thousands of shekels were seized. According to assessments, the money was used by terror groups. All of the wanted Palestinians will be interrogated by the Israeli security forces.
