Soldiers from the IDF’s Yahalom Unit, the combat engineering unit for special operations, arrived at the Jerusalem terrorist’s home in East Jerusalem’s Jabel Mukaber neighborhood this morning (Tuesday) and began to map it for demolition. Fadi al-Qanbar murdered four IDF soldiers on Sunday when he plowed his truck into them in Jerusalem’s East Talpiot (Armon HaNetziv) neighborhood.

Immediately following the terror attack, the Israeli Security Cabinet convened in order to discuss possible responses to the vehicular attack. In addition to other measures that will be taken, the Security Cabinet members decided that the demolition of the terrorist’s home would be carried out as soon as possible. Meanwhile, police officers arrested last night the terrorist’s brother, Sami al-Qanbar, stating that he could have been aware of his brother’s intentions.

“No one knows why he did what he did,” Sami told Channel 2 News yesterday prior to his arrest. “Maybe his brakes stopped working. He didn’t mean to carry out a terror attack.” Sami also dismissed the claims that his brother was an ISIS supporter. “He did not identify with ISIS at all,” he said.
