First female officer appointed deputy commander in Israeli Air Force F-15 combat squadron

For the first time in the history of the Israeli Air Force, a woman has been appointed deputy commander of a combat squadron. The officer, trained as a navigator, will be integrated into a squadron of F-15s.

On Monday night, the commander of the Israeli Air Force, Major General Amikam Norkin, announced that for the first time in history, a woman has been appointed as deputy commander of a combat squadron.

Trained as a navigator, she will serve in the "Spearhead Squadron" of F-15s at the Tel Nof base.

Two other female officers were also chosen to serve as deputy commanders in squadrons in the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle division.
