IDF attacks Syrian Army post after mortar shell lands in Golan Heights

A mortar shell from Syria landed this morning in the Northern Golan Heights as a result of the Syrian civil war. No damage or injuries were reported. The IDF responded by attacking an artillery post of the Syrian Army.

A mortar shell landed this morning (Wednesday) in the Northern Golan Heights due to the Syrian civil war after the battles between the Syrian Army and rebel forces resumed along Syria’s border with Israel.

The battles are taking place near the Quneitra Crossing. The rebel forces that are in control of the crossing fired at Syrian Army forces. One of the mortar shells landed in Israel. No damage or injuries were reported.

A few hours later, the IDF responded to the fire and attacked an artillery battery belonging to the Syrian Army. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the Israeli military holds the Syrian government accountable for all attacks originating from Syria.
