2,000 M16 bullets and 24 grenades stolen from IDF base

About 2,000 M16 bullets and 24 grenades were stolen from a bunker on an IDF base in northern Israel. The IDF Military Police has opened an investigation regarding the incident. Earlier this month, an ammunitions storage break-in was discovered on a military outpost in northern Israel.

Yesterday (Tuesday), a break-in was identified at a bunker on an IDF base in northern Israel. The IDF Military Police opened an investigation regarding the incident and the preliminary evaluation indicates that 2,000 M16 bullets and 24 grenades were stolen.

Earlier this month, an IDF Combat Engineering Corps’ emergency ammunitions bunker was broken into in northern Israel where much was stolen. Apparently, it was broken into during Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah.

The IDF Military Police’s investigation discovered that the following was stolen from the emergency ammunitions: 2,970 5.56 mm bullets, 96 40 mm bullets, 2 29 mines, 10 M16 bullets, and several others. Four boxes of 5.56 mm bullets and two Halush 95 explosives were stolen from the exercise ammunitions.
