The IDF's Intelligence Directorate and the Mossad have completed reports that provide new information on the fate of Ron Arad, an IAF navigator who was captured over Lebanon almost 30 years ago.

These reports include a comprehensive summary of all the information that has been gathered on Arad's fate since he went missing, as well as new information collected in the last two years, which indicates that Arad died within the first few years of his captivity.

Arad was captured in October 1986 by the Lebanese Shiite group Amal, and was later transferred to Hezbollah. Israeli authorities lost contact with him in 1988.
