Palestinian man leaves Israel by crossing border into Gaza

IDF forces spotted a man who crossed the border into Gaza from Israel this afternoon. The suspect has been identified as a Palestinian man who resides in Gaza and was in Israel visiting his family.

IDF soldiers spotted a man who crossed the border into Gaza from Israel on Friday. The IDF has determined that the man was a Palestinian who resides in Gaza and was in Israel visiting his family.  

Female soldiers in the electronic observation unit near Gaza spotted the suspect approaching the border fence and crossing over to the Palestinian side. IDF forces were rushed to the scene.

This is the fourth time that since Operation Protective Edge that a person on the Israeli side of the border has crossed over into Gaza. Three years ago, Avera Mengistu crossed the border and was apprehended by Hamas forces. Mengistu, along with another Israeli citizen named Hisham al-Sayed, is currently being held captive by the terrorist organization.
