In an unusual move, Jewish settlers from Gush Etzion have called upon Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman to order the immediate return of a Palestinian teen's body to his family.

The boy, Khaled al-Bahar, was killed by IDF troops four weeks ago after being suspected of throwing stones at them. An army inquiry later found that the soldiers were not in a life-threatening situation and that the shooting was disproportionate.

"We, a group of settlers from Gush Etzion, who keep close ties with many residents of the nearby Beit Ummar, know how very tragic this incident was," the settlers wrote Lieberman, adding that the IDF's decision to hold onto the boy' body "escalates the tension in the area and is of no value to the inquiry."
