Earlier today, JOL reported that a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip late last night landed in Israel in an open field. No one was injured and no damage was reported. It was the fifth time in the last month that the quiet was disturbed in Southern Israel. Earlier today, IDF Intelligence chief Major General Herzi Halevi warned members of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Gaza is on the verge of crisis, a reality that he says is likely to lead to a military escalation despite Hamas’ reluctance to disrupt the status quo.
