Israeli Border Police troops on Friday detained a Palestinian man near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. The man was then found to have hidden a knife in his sock.

The man was deemed suspicious by the soldiers upon his arrival at the Jewish holy site. He was asked to go through the metal detector, which kept going off. After frisking him thoroughly, the soldiers found a large kitchen knife in his sock.

A preliminary questioning by the soldiers indicated that the man had planned to carry out a stabbing attack at the site. This is the sixth terror attack foiled there since the beginning of the year.
