Suspect arrested for stealing IDF senior-level officer’s military laptop

6 suspects were arrested in the last several months for breaking into private homes and stealing, 1 of whom is suspected for breaking into the home of former Head of the Personnel Directorate Hagi Topolansky and stealing his military computer.

The Israel Police arrested 6 citizens of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Bedouin villages in the South for suspicion of breaking into private homes and stealing property. One of the suspects is suspected of breaking into the home of former Head of the Personnel Directorate Hagi Topolansky and stealing his military computer.

Last December, JOL reported that Topolansky’s home was broken into and his car and military laptop were stolen. Two days after the incident, Topolansky announced his retirement from the IDF.

Topolansky was questioned under caution by the IDF's Military Police. During the investigation, it was discovered that no secret files were on the laptop that was stolen from his house. There was an examination of whether the device was taken from the base according to data security protocol.
