Numerous forces were dispatched to the Hashmonaim checkpoint, located near Modi’in, due to a suspected terror attack attempt. Following the incident investigation, it became clear that a 60-year-old Palestinian woman was running towards the checkpoint and did not stop despite the IDF soldiers’ calls for her to do so.

Once the soldiers conducted the IDF suspect apprehension procedure, which includes firing warning shots in the air, the Palestinian woman fainted and was arrested. After searching the suspect’s body, it was determined that she did not have any weapons in her possession.

Last night, the Israel Police thwarted another suspected attempt to carry out a shooting attack. During a police operation conducted in Tira concerning the illegal use and possession of weapons, a driver was requested to stop. After the driver attempted to flee the scene, the police stopped the vehicle’s driver and passenger, 20-year-old Tira residents.

Upon searching their vehicle, the police located weapons and other items that raised the suspicion that the two were on their way to carry out a terror attack. “This activity derived from extensive operational activity for the protection of residents in the area and while striving to make contact against those who seek to violate it by endangering human lives,” the Israel Police stated.
