Once again, there was unrest today (Saturday) in Hebron as Israel Border Police officers arrested a Palestinian at the Cave of the Patriarchs with a knife in his possession. “The police officers most likely prevented a stabbing attack at the Cave of the Patriarchs,” the Israel Police stated.

The Israel Police also stated that the Israel Border Police officers’ vigilance at one of the area’s security checkpoints led to their suspicion of one of the Palestinians who tried to walk towards the Cave of the Patriarch with a knife in his pocket.

It turns out that the same terrorist, a Hebron resident in his 20s, had already passed through a security checkpoint earlier this morning. However, the police officers did not find anything on him then. According to the Israel Border Police, upon his return to the security checkpoints, the police officers thought that he looked suspicious and asked him to again remove his coat for an additional security check. “However, when he removed the coat from his body this time, one of the police officers saw a knife in his pant pocket,” the Israel Border Police stated.

After seeing the knife, the police officers pointed their guns towards the terrorist and arrested him without having to use force. The terrorist was brought in for questioning by Israeli security forces.
