Israeli security forces have arrested the terrorist believed to have carried out the deadly stabbing attack near Ariel in the beginning of February.

The arrest was made in the early hours of Sunday morning and followed more than a month of relentless searches, during which Israeli forces had detained and interrogated several suspects who provided details on the terrorist's whereabouts.

The terrorist, Abed al-Karim Assi, 19, is suspected of murdering Rabbi Itamar Ben Gal on February 5 near the entrance to Ariel. He had been hiding in an apartment in Nablus.

Ben Gal's widow, Miriam, said she feels "nothing" about the arrest because it "will not bring (Itamar) back home to me and will not prevent another terrorist from committing another murder and destroying another family." The government's answer to the attack, she argued, should be to increase the construction of homes in West Bank settlements.

Assi, an Israeli Arab, had spent most of his teenage years moving from one facility for unprivileged youth to another. The investigation into the attack indicated that he often went back and forth between his home in Tel Aviv and the West Bank.

He is suspected of murdering Rabbi Itamar Ben Gal, 29, a father of four from the settlement of Har Brakha, by stabbing him multiple times in his chest.
