Watch: IDF Haredi soldier attacked in Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem

A Jerusalem citizen was arrested for the suspicion of attacking a Haredi soldier in the Mea Shearim neighborhood. In the footage, the soldier can be seen suffering verbal abuse while eggs and bottles are thrown at him.

Today (Wednesday), a suspect was arrested for attacking a Haredi IDF soldier in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem. During the event, the soldier attempted to enter a store and suffered verbal abuse while eggs and water bottles were thrown at him. The suspect was brought in for questioning by the police.

Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Magistrate Court sentenced a different attacker of a Haredi soldier for the first time in an incident that occurred two years ago. The attacker was sentenced to five months in prison that will be translated into community service, a suspended sentence, a fine of 500 Shekels (approximately 136 dollars) and a compensation payment of 1,000 shekels to the victim.

The attack today comes after a series of violent incidents against Haredi soldiers. 3 days ago, police were called to the same neighborhood in Jerusalem following a report of a soldier who entered a book store when a crowd began shouting and gathering around him. Police forces rescued the soldier, who was left unharmed.
