Two huge weapons lathes were uncovered this morning (Tuesday) in the Balata Refugee Camp near Nablus. Tools and many weapons parts were found within these factories and the owner was arrested and brought in for questioning by Israeli security forces. As part of the battle against weapons production within the West Bank, the IDF Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion raided the factories after receiving intelligence from the Shin Bet. Upon entering the refugee camp, Palestinians fired shots at the soldiers, who returned fire, and luckily nobody was injured.

“The refugee camp near Nablus is a violent place and every entrance is accompanied by gunfire,” described 51st Brigade commander Lt. Col. Adi Ganon. “The gunfire towards us was not accurate, but we returned fire and we did not receive reports about injured Palestinians. Because we knew that it would be heated, we entered the camp with large forces.”
