After a particularly difficult training, an IDF combat platoon gathered around their Ethiopian commander and began singing in Amharic, the language spoken by Ethiopian Jews.

The song, taught by their Ethiopian officer, is intended to raise morale before going into battle and create comradery among the soldiers. It is also a song used by Ethiopian soccer fans. Similar rituals take place in every IDF combat unit.
