Forces arrest Palestinians who hid weapons near Israeli communityThe IDF believes that the Palestinians were planning to attack Israelis in the neighborhood of Mitzpe Yishay.
It was cleared for publication on Sunday morning that two Palestinians hid a gun, bullets and a knife near the Israeli neighborhood of Mitzpe Yishay in the West Bank. The suspects were arrested by the forces over the weekend and their weapons were confiscated. It is suspected that they were planning to carry out a terror attack.
Meanwhile, IDF, Shin Bet, Israel Police and Israel Border Police forces apprehended seven wanted Palestinians suspected of being involved in terrorist activities and violent clashes with Israeli forces. The arrests took place across the West Bank area.
On Saturday, IDF soldiers thwarted a car-ramming attack in Hebron. The terrorist, a 30-year-old Beit Ummar resident, was eliminated at the scene as he tried to ram his car into the soldiers, who were manning a roadblock.
"Moments ago, an attempted car ramming attack was thwarted in Hebron. A terrorist attempted to run over IDF troops located at the site with his vehicle. In response, the troops fired towards the terrorist, killing him. No IDF injuries reported," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit tweeted.
The attempted West Bank terror attacks and arrests took place amid the rising tensions between Israel and the terrorist groups in Gaza, mainly Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. On Saturday night, Gazan terrorists fired six projectiles at Israeli communities near the border. Only one rocket landed in Israeli territory, causing no injuries or damage. Four were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system while another fell short of the Israeli-Gaza border.
