Bitan: "The criticism should be towards Shimron, not towards Netanyahu"

Coalition Chairman MK David Bitan, a close associate of the Israeli Prime Minister, criticized today (Monday) Netanyahu's attorney David Shimron in regards to the recent submarine acquisition affair.

Bitan was interviewed on the Israeli Knesset Channel and said: "There is no doubt that the criticism on the submarine matter should be towards Shimron, not towards Netanyahu."

Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid also spoke about the affair and said, "When it is about the IDF, its soldiers and its commanders, there must be a comprehensive investigation until we know the entire truth."

Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman also responded to the matter: "Everything went according to the cabinet's decision and the security establishment’s stance."

So far, the Israeli Attorney General has claimed that there is no need to involve the Israel Police by launching a police investigation or a legal inquiry into the matter.
