Sources within Israel’s political system believe that the coalition political parties will not pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign over the recent developments in the police investigations involving him. However, this could change if charges are filed. Channel 2 News learned on Saturday evening that the politicians said that they expect to see the coalition members (Shas, United Torah Judaism, Yisrael Beiteinu, Kulanu and Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi) try to take advantage of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reliance on each of them in order to gain political achievements.

Netanyahu’s coalition immensely depends on each of the parties. Aside from Yisrael Beiteinu, if one of the parties leaves the coalition, Israel will be heading to the polls earlier than expected.

Recently, Netanyahu has changed his position on several issues in order to keep the coalition together. For example, he has called for the death penalty for terrorists. However, the sources do not believe that the parties will place extensive pressure on Netanyahu because they are interested in preserving the government.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered last night in Petah Tikva to protest against Netanyahu while supporters of the prime minister assembled nearby for a counter protest. In light of the recent developments in the cases involving Netanyahu, more people than usual came to the protest.
