Yesterday (Friday), after it was still unclear whether she would be appointed as the next President of the Israeli Supreme Court by seniority, it was decided that associate justice Esther Hayut will assume the position in six months.

None of the associate justices of the Supreme Court agreed to become the next president and break the seniority method. Therefore, Hayut is expected to take over the job when Miriam Naor retires in October.
