MK Isaac Herzog, the chairman of the Israeli opposition, said Saturday that his Zionist Union party would support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he chose to promote a peace process with the Palestinian leadership.

Herzog added that Netanyahu has to make a choice between promoting the interests of the Israeli people or those of the radical factions of his Likud party, led by popular MKs and ministers such as Miri Regev and David Bitan.

"After Trump's visit, we will know whether we have a prime minister who understands the need for a peace deal or one who continues to dodge the challenge," Herzog said.
