Israeli Knesset preparing 2nd and 3rd reading of V-15 law

The Knesset is currently preparing the second and third reading of a proposed law that will prevent entities that aren’t political parties from influencing the Israeli election results.

The Knesset is presently preparing the second and third reading of a proposed law that will prevent entities that aren’t political parties from getting involved in the Israeli elections. The restrictions will apply to anyone who invests over 100,000 NIS.

However, an interesting section was revealed that relates to advertisement in the media. What will happen if an outside entity such as V-15 publishes political content in the media? The chapter establishes that journalistic content that is given for free is acceptable so long as the newspaper was established at least 3 months prior to the election.

 MK Yoav Kish (Likud) stated that the law won’t change existing laws and in any case, nothing will be done in order to harm the work of journalists.
