After the fiery speech that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave during a rally held in his support earlier today (Wednesday), members of the parliamentary opposition had a lot to say: "What we saw tonight is not a show of support for Netanyahu, but a demonstration of support for corruption," Yair Lapid, chairman of Yesh Atid, said on Twitter.

Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who Netanyahu alluded to in his speech by saying that "the political tsunami is on the way" and calling him "an old man with a new beard" and "a not-very-successful prime minister," also responded to his remarks on Twitter: "The suspect from Balfour continues to whine," he said. "The Likudniks are proud and honest citizens, not puppets. There is no persecution, there is corruption. There is no leadership, there is panic."

Labor Party Chairman Avi Gabbai, who was a minister in Netanyahu's government, said that Likud members' support at the rally today does not truly reflect the opinion of Likud voters: "They pay the price of corruption like the rest of the nation," he tweeted. "I call on [Netanyahu] to address this in elections soon."

MK Tzipi Livni from the Zionist camp also attacked Netanyahu: "The Likudniks are not corrupt," she tweeted, "but Netanyahu is corrupting Israel. I'm sure that many of the Likud voters- honest people and good citizens- feel uncomfortable tonight." Meretz chairman Zehava Gal'on also addressed Netanyahu's speech and said that "even by Netanyahu's very hysterical standards," what we are seeing is him "losing his mind".
