Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in Syria, according to reports. Netanyahu spoke with the Russian leader immediately after he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Olga Beach.

The conversation between the two comes amid the intense fighting between the Syrian Army and the rebel forces in the Golan Heights in Syria, which continues to spill over into Israel’s territory. On Friday, two mortar shells landed in Israel’s Golan Heights near the Syrian border within one hour. No one was injured in the incidents. In response, the IDF attacked a Syrian Army cannon.
