Opposition MK counters right-wing statements: "Two-state solution isn't dead"

During an event in Givatayim, MK Eyal Ben-Reuven responded to the right-wing politicians’ statements that the two-state solution is dead because of Trump's election, "I propose to my friends to wait with their celebrations."

Eyal Ben-Reuven, an MK from the Zionist Camp, criticized today (Saturday) the Israeli right-wing politicians who claimed that the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential election means that the two-state solution is dead. "Many politicians who claim that the two-state solution is dead because of Trump's election are lying to the voters," said Ben-Reuven.

"The president-elect has still not decided on his positions on the subject and the only thing we can say about him is that he is a leader that is stable in his flaky opinions," said Ben-Reuven. "I propose to my friends to wait with their celebrations. Not only is the election of Trump not the end of the two-state solution, it is the only solution to the Palestinian situation," he added.

The MK also said that he doesn't expect dramatic changes in Washington’s position on the settlements.

Ben-Reuven's comments are a response to the statements made by some right-wing politicians, which were reported by JOL yesterday.
