Watch: Netanyahu's video message
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel's national identity is receiving a "strong validation," alluding to US President Donald Trump's expected announcement that the US is recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Netanyahu added that he will address the issue more thoroughly later in the day.
These remarks were made in a video posted on Netanyahu's Facebook page, which he filmed while in his car as he was leaving a diplomatic convention in Jerusalem organized by the Jerusalem Post. "I showed a few slides that presented the great achievements of Israeli diplomacy," Netanyahu told his viewers. "You could see that these diplomats knew it and wanted to be a part of it."
"Our national and historic identity is getting some strong validations, mainly today," Netanyahu added, but refrained from referring specifically to Trump's move. "I will obviously have something to add to that later today regarding Jerusalem."Click here to JerusalemOnline homepage
