More than 1,500 people participated today (Friday) in the Trail of Smiles march in memory of IDF Lieutenant Hadar Goldin who fell in battle during Operation Protective Edge. At the end of the event, the participants gathered at the Shoni Amphitheatre to commemorate Hadar’s 26th birthday, despite the fact that his body is still being held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

Hadar’s father Professor Simha Goldin thanked the participants and expressed hope that the Israeli political leadership will continue working towards bringing his son’s body home. “An event of this sort with an attendance like this strengthens our feelings that the nation of Israel is united with us in demanding that the Israeli leadership will stop talking and begin doing in order to bring Hadar and Oron Shaul back home,” said Goldin.

This is the second year that a march in memory of Hadar was held on his birthday. During the event organized by Zappa, several famous Israeli artists performed.
