'Those who preserve Netanyahu's collapsing rule will fall with him in the end'
Ari Harow's parents speak out: 'He tried to give back to the country, and it didn’t end up so well'After yesterday's reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's former chief of staff signed a deal with the State Prosecutor to serve as a state's witness against Netanyahu in corruption cases, you may wonder, who exactly is Ari Harow?
Watch Below: Ari Harow's parents speak out
"It really bothers me that no one is paying attention the obvious. This whole exercise against Ari and anyone around Bibi was to get Bibi," Ari Harow’s mother told Channel 2 News. "What I can tell you is Ari is one of the most honorable, trustworthy people I know, and I think that he was close to Bibi because Bibi knew he could trust him. That’s what I know. I don’t know if they discussed personal issues and such but I know he had a lot of trust in Ari.”
Harow’s father added, “The family is pretty, pretty depressed. Ari started out to help the country We made Aliyah from Los Angeles and we thought this would be a good place to raise our sons, and they tried to give back to the country, and it didn’t end up so well…He got into trouble.”
Harow was the head of the Prime Minister’s Office after Netanyahu’s win in the 2009 election and later became the Netanyahu’s Chief of Staff in 2014. He was born in the US to a family of religious Zionist who immigrated to Israel and moved to the West Bank in 1985. In 2002 at 29-years-old, Harow began his work with Netanyahu as a foreign affairs advisor and the head of overseas fundraising.
A year later, Harow stood as the head of the American Friends of Likud organization, the same organization linked to the Bibi Tours Affair through which police suspected private donors financed Netanyahu’s trips with his family abroad.
Like his parents, all of Harow’s acquaintances describe an honest and ethical person. However, on the other hand, when he returned to work at Netanyahu's office, he declared that he had sold his private consulting firm - a sale that turned out to be made-up.
Harow was arrested and was reportedly going to jail. Yet as of yesterday (Friday) Netanyahu’s former chief of staff signed a state-sponsored deal to reduce his sentence in return for serving as a state’s witness against Netanyahu. The assumption is that the State Prosecutor’s Office would not have sought after an agreement with Harow if he did not have incriminating information about the prime minister.
