Several billboards were put up today (Tuesday) throughout the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area in what appears to be an attempt to persuade former prime minister Ehud Barak to return to politics. The giant signs read: “Barak, you must run! Netanyahu is ruining the country.”

Many Israelis reported on social media sites about seeing the billboards during their commutes and uploaded pictures of them. The billboards are located in several central places in the area including the Tel Aviv University Train Station and in front of Ramat Gan’s Ayalon Mall. At the moment, it is unclear who is responsible for the campaign.

The billboards come in light of Barak’s harsh criticism towards Netanyahu and his government’s conduct. As reported by JOL (JerusalemOnline), during a speech three weeks ago, Barak said that Netanyahu and his government are “harming Israel’s security.”
