Ya’alon: “I don’t intend to be the No. 2 in Yair Lapid’s party”

Former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon clarified last night that he does not intend to join Yesh Atid and become Yair Lapid’s second-in-command. “I don’t intend to be the No. 2 in Yair Lapid’s party, not to mention the differences in our views,” wrote Ya’alon in a Facebook post.

After it was reported that Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid met with former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, the latter stated last night (Saturday) that he has no intentions of being Lapid’s second-in-command.

“I’m meeting with all the relevant politicians but contrary to the reports, I don’t intend to be the No. 2 in Yair Lapid’s party, not to mention the differences in our views,” wrote Ya’alon in a Facebook post.

On Thursday, Lapid met with Ya’alon in Northern Tel Aviv. It is assumed that the two discussed both local and international politics. This was the third or fourth meeting between the two in the last six months.
