In a significant step towards a global battle against climate change, 197 nations reached an agreement on Saturday to phase out the use of the super greenhouse gas HFC in refrigerators and air-conditioners.

The deal, which includes the world's two biggest economies, the United States and China, divides countries into three groups with different deadlines. "It's a monumental step forward," US Secretary of State John Kerry said at the end of the international summit in Kigali, Rwanda.
